Applying

Q: How do I apply for a vacancy at Adelie?

A: Simply click on the Work for Us page. Select the role you wish to apply for and follow the direction given at the bottom of each advert.

Q: There are no vacancies showing in the department or location I am interested in?

A: If there aren’t any vacancies listed we’re not currently recruiting. You can email talent@adeliefoods.co.uk to register your interest for future vacancies. In the email please state the type of role and location you are interested in working.

 Q: How long does the recruitment process take?

A: It depends on the role you’re applying for. As a general rule, the entire process of recruiting a specialist role or management role will take between four and eight weeks. For hourly paid roles, the recruitment process will take up to two weeks.

 Q: Is the online application process secure?

A: Yes, we ensure all personal information you provide is protected from unauthorised use. Applications will only be share with the Recruitment Team and the Hiring Manager.

 Q: Can I apply for more than one vacancy?

A: Yes, you can apply for as many vacancies as you wish. However, we will only consider one of your applications at a time, so think carefully about what role you apply for and where you wish to work.

 Q: How long will it take to apply for a role?

A: It’s really quick. It should take less than 10 minutes to submit your CV.

 Q: What if I don’t have my own computer or e-mail?

A: There are a number of places in your area that have free public access to computers. Try your local public library, Jobcentre Plus or an internet cafe.

 Q: Can I complete a paper instead of e-mailing a CV?

A: No, unfortunately not. The online process is a key part of our recruitment process. In order to ensure consistency and the same experience for every candidate, we only accept online applications.

After you apply

 Q: How long will it take for someone to contact me?

A:  We aim to contact you as quickly as possible, which is usually within seven to ten days of receiving your application. We try to contact all candidates, even if they’re unsuccessful – so if you haven’t heard back, please email the Recruitment Team at talent@adeliefoods.co.uk for an update.

 Q: What shall I wear for the interview?

 A: Manufacturing or Distribution: Smart business dress is recommended. Remember you may be going into our manufacturing hall as well as having a formal interview. For this we suggest:

  • A warm top
  • Socks as you will required to wear our footwear
  • No jewellery, except a plain wedding ring
  • No nail varnish, false nails or excessive make up

If you are unable to comply with any of the dress requirements, please let the Hiring Manager know prior to your interview.

You may be turned away from the interview and your application terminated if you are not appropriately dressed.

 Q: What documents should I provide as proof of eligibility to work in the UK?

A: We are required to check your eligibility to work in the UK before we employ you. You must be able to provide a valid passport or a valid UK visa and proof of National Insurance number. Only original documents will be accepted.

 Q: If I’m not successful can I apply again?

A: Yes, you can apply again, but ensure you make a new application.

 Q: What are the pay rates at Adelie?

A: We ensure that our pay rates remain competitive. For more information, refer to the individual vacancy.

 Q: How often do I get paid?

A: This will be every week for hourly paid employees and monthly for salaried employees.

 Q: What types of shifts will I be doing?

A: Our manufacturing and distribution sites operate 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. All hours are detailed in the specific job advert. Adelie HQ operates normal office hours of 9am-5pm.

Q: What should I wear to work?

A: For office work smart business dress is recommended. For those in factories and distribution centres, all PPE is provided. However, as you may be working in a chilled environment of 0-5 degrees we recommend you wear warm clothing.
